i love cake…

ok so most of the time i just design whatever i feel like, however today’s design was born from a recent life experience… on Monday was Queenie’s funeral and so the uk was shut, all the shops services etc, all shut, and guess what happens to me on the one day when everything was shut? well i will tell you; first my washer broke, then my cooker broke, so i could not wash clothes or cook, on the one day when everything was shut. Now yesterday everything was open and the day was spent trying to find a cooker as i not only have myself to feed but two kids as well, and luckily today i have a microwave being delivered, a cooker is on order too but won’t be here til Saturday. Then i spent the rest of the day learning how to cook with only a microwave, i haven’t owned a microwave in years, had one once but didn’t really take to it, now out of necessity i have to, and i am very happy to learn i can in fact make cake in a cup in a microwave! so here is the cup i designed;

• Ceramic
• Height: 3.85″ (9.8 cm)
• Diameter: 3.35″ (8.5 cm)
• Dishwasher and microwave safe

to buy this product

and for anyone who would like to know the recipe;

Original recipe yields 1 servings

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Step 1
  • Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large microwave-safe mug; stir in milk, canola oil, water, and vanilla extract.
  • Step 2
  • Cook in microwave until cake is done in the middle, about 1 minute 45 seconds.

soon as my microwave arrives i am trying this! i found this recipe on youtube and have watched the video reckon i will soon be eating cake from a cup! As for the washer…looks like i may be handwashing for a while!

have an excellent day!

    What a cute design!!! (I too love cake, haha). I’m sure things have been very busy where you live with the Queen’s passing! That’s cool that you learned how to use the microwave and make the cake in a cup. 💗
